Some may think it’s too soon.  But I’ve always been a believer in putting up the tree the day after thanksgiving.

  3. Big aisles in the grocery store, and Target.
  4. A REAL grocery store
  5. Walking to fun bars!!!
  6. Wrigley Field at the end of the street
  7. Being in the same timezone as my mother
  8. Being within driving distance of my family
  9. Tons of grass for Laverne to enjoy
  10. Oprah at 9:00 am instead of 4:00pm

Yes We Can

Went to the equal rights rally today.  What started as a rally soon turned into a march through the streets of Chicago.  What started as walking through the city on the sidewalk soon turned into taking over the streets.  Can’t help but feel a little bad for the people sitting in there cars as thousands of protesters took over the street stopping traffic in downtown Chicago.  But then a few minutes of there time is nothing to the years of no civil/equal rights.

Oprah’s Clean Up Your Messy House Tour

Oddly enough the Oprah Show today made me wish I was back in New York.  One of the clients from Edris was featured on the show.

Our New Backyard (wink, wink)

In lieu of finding something cheap/free to do, Jim and I discovered the Lincoln Park Conservatory and the Lincoln Park Zoo.  Both highly recommended and both completely free.  We were surprised how nice the zoo was.  We were expecting something along the lines of the Central Park Zoo.  After all it is a zoo in the middle of a park, just like the one in NY.  But it had all the animals you expect in a full size zoo, and unlike the Bronx Zoo you don’t have to pay extra to see the more popular animals.  Lions, Tigers, and Bears oh my!!!  Unfortunately the battery ran out on the camera just as we were starting the zoo.  But I swear I could sit and watch those gorillas all day long, must be the Diane Fossey in me.
