Someone Is Not Feeling Too Well

Thoughts and concerns are with our little girl.  She is not feeling to well.  Recently Jim discovered what looked like some sort of infection on her gum right above what I would call the “fang” tooth.  We took her to the vet yesterday and he said that chances are they are going to have to remove the tooth.   Which meant an overnight stay, and because of her age, she just turned 10, they have to take special precautions.  So chances are we won’t get her back until Tuesday.  It’s the weirdest thing being in the apartment and not having her here.  I went to the fridge last night and pulled out lunch meat to make and sandwich, and looked down and she was not there.  This morning no one woke us up to go out, and as much as I always wish I could sleep in, this morning I wished she was here to take out.  I almost lost it in the vet office, when I saw all the other animals in little cages awaiting to go to the hospital, and I knew that they would put her in one all alone.  I have to remember though that she will be ok, and honestly she is probably curled up in a ball sleeping peacefully.  But one thing I know is that this has proven how much we love her, and enjoy having her in our lives.   To view tons of cute photos of her, click here.

They’ve All Went In A Breeze Before.

I hadn’t heard this yet, but they are making Gone With The Wind into a stage musical that is to premiere in April in London’s West End.  As much as Americans love this film, I really don’t think this one ever has a chance of making the trip across the pond.  I’ve often thought that eventually someone would want to do a musical version of Margaret Mitchell’s classic, and apparently they have tried this before.

In 1970 a production called Scarlett premiered in Japan, and then was restructured to premiere  in London in 1972.  Reviews were decent enough for the producers to take the show to the US, casting Lesley Ann Warren as Scarlett.   Reviews were so bad at the preview performances in Los Angeles, that the opening for New York was quickly canceled, and New York theater audiences were robbed of seeing their favorite southern belle singing her way through the civil war.   So the odds are not good that Scarlett will be making her great white way premiere, but who knows.  If audiences are willing to see a green ogre,  maybethey will yearn for the “good ole days” of the south.  I use that term loosely because let’s face it they weren’t good for everyone.            Read the rest of this entry »
