I will miss you Estelle Getty.
Belated birthday wishes go out to one of our favorite golden girls. Bea Arthur turned 86 on Tuesday. Where would television be without her, and some could argue our country. Hard to believe the argument is still going on 35 years later. In honor I thought I would post a clip I made last year along with a few others. Enjoy! Thank you for being a friend you old compromisin, enterprisin, anything but tranquilizin…..right on Bea! www.beatricearthur.com
Back from the city that is windy, and a small town with a ton of snow. I think it snowed everyday I was there, do I really want to move back? Second thoughts perhaps. A week with no internet connection, how is one to blog? We must find a way. Amazing my mom doesn’t even have an ABC affiliate. But how do you watch LOST? Family visited, sending well wishes to Jim, hopes for finding a job soon. One even said they would send us a card with some money in it. “It’s not fair that they can get married and you can’t. I’ll send you some money too.” Small town, but not small minds, surprising once and a while, but then again, they still don’t have an ABC affiliate.
Ok, so here is the deal, I have a little confession to make. I am a Big Brother fan. I didn’t start watching this show until the 5th or 6th season, but then I ended up getting hooked, and have been watching each season there on out. I think one of the reasons I like this show so much is that you are secluded from the outside world. No phone, no tv, no newspaper, nothing. The idea of being cut off from the outside world intrigues me. I guess you could say it would be kind of like college again. Or better yet study hall. I specifically remember taking study hall in high school just so I could have an hour out of the day to sit and do nothing. Not to say that I would be able to do it, but you have to admit that it would be kind of cool to just sit around and do nothing all day. But it would get boring extremely quickly. But here lies the beauty of the show, they cast the most obnoxious people to piss you off, thus creating the ever popular reality tv drama. So here’s to another season of Big Brother. Click here to see the interesting cast of characters they’ve chosen for this season. Sidebar: Is it just me, or has our host Julie Chen gone for some kind of Angelina Jolie lip treatment.
